This workshop will help you to understand the physiological and emotional changes that occur in the first few weeks and months after birth, and how to prepare, plan and care for yourself during these amazing, but also challenging weeks. We will also cover the basics of breastfeeding. The full childbirth education series consists of two 4-hour classes. A third, 3-hour class on Breastfeeding Basics & Postpartum Planning is also offered as part of the series, or as a stand-alone class.

$300 per couple for the 2-class series (November 6 and 13, 2016 from 1:00pm to 5:30pm).

Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training (New York)

Immerse yourself in the study of yoga for the childbearing year. This 40-hour comprehensive training (contact and non-contact hours), will include how to teach yoga to women in all stages of pregnancy. Participants are eligible for 40 hours of CEU credits. To receive certification, you will be required to attend all 4 days of training, and complete 22 non-contact hours consisting of homework assignments, independent practice, quizzes, reading assignments, lesson plan, class observation and practicum evaluation class.

Prerequisite: 200 hour basic yoga teacher certification.

Breastfeeding Basics and Postpartum Wellness

Becoming a parent is a tremendous life transition. This workshop will help you to understand the physiological and emotional changes that occur in the first few weeks and months after birth, and how to prepare, plan and care for yourself during these amazing, but also challenging weeks. We will also cover the basics of breastfeeding. You will learn how the body makes milk, what happens when mature milk comes in, how to position and latch your baby properly, troubleshooting common breastfeeding issues, swaddling and baby's hunger cues. Don't wait until your baby is born to begin learning! ($75 per couple)

Yoga for Labor and Delivery: Essentials for a More Easeful Birth

This couples workshop provides instruction on a full range of simple, practical techniques to achieve calmness, reduce discomfort and facilitate the process of labor. Couples will have ample opportunity to explore and practice proven comfort measures for labor while the supporting partner gains confidence in his/her ability to provide support during labor. You will learn how to encourage your baby into an optimal position for birth and ways that can re-position baby if you experience back labor. The information gained in this workshop may be used in hospital, birth center or home birth environments and includes material not typically covered in hospital-based classes. Dress comfortably and bring a snack and water. ($75 per couple)
